Road Trip License Plate Game

Alabama License Plate

Plate Design

Alabama license plate: sunset beach scene with a fence, umbrella, buoy, and a Heart of Dixie badge

The current standard Alabama plate uses a beach-themed design: a Gulf Coast sunset over the water, complete with a beach fence, striped umbrella, buoy, and a seagull, plus a small "Heart of Dixie" heart badge and the "alabama.travel" tourism tag at the bottom.

How Rare Is It on the Road Trip Game?

Uncommon. Alabama has a solid population and a lot of SEC-country road tripping, but most of that travel stays within the Deep South rather than crossing the whole country, so plates thin out considerably once you're north of the Ohio River.

Spotting Tip

Watch for Alabama plates near Gulf Coast beach towns like Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, which pull visitors from across the Southeast every summer.

Fun Fact

Mobile, Alabama held the first Mardi Gras celebration in the United States, decades before New Orleans' version became famous.
